When cancer is involved in your life, even joy can be overshadowed by anxiety. Moncrief has specialists who have helped many patients and families deal with the emotions of cancer.

We offer therapy sessions with compassionate clinical psychologists so you can talk through difficult issues in a supportive setting. We also extend that high-quality, personal care to cancer survivors, family members and caregivers.

Psychologists have specialized knowledge that can help you:

• Cope with a cancer diagnosis and fear of recurrence

• Learn how to handle stress

• Deal with fears and depression

Meet the Clinical Psychologists at Moncrief Cancer Institute

Laura Howe-Martin, Ph.D.
Dr. Howe-Martin has extensive experience helping medical patients cope with the difficulties of their illnesses, especially women affected by cancer. Joining UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2009, she is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry.

Brittany Hall, Ph.D.
Dr. Hall’s interests include treatments that have been proven effective in research studies. Since joining UT Southwestern Medical Center as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry in 2015, she has led a survivor therapy group at Moncrief.

Face-to-face therapy sessions with our psychologists are held at Moncrief Cancer Institute in Fort Worth. Teletherapy sessions are also available.

Cost of Services

We accept most insurance plans. For those who are uninsured or face high co-pays, financial assistance is available.
